Dr Luke Beardon has been working as a practitioner and consultant in the field of autism and Asperger syndrome for around twenty years and is currently Senior Lecturer at the Autism Centre, Sheffield Hallam University. He has a particular interest in individuals with autism who have broken the law and provides consultancy around the country. A charismatic and entertaining speaker, who will challenge current thinking on the nature of autism.

We are looking for Parent Volunteers to support the redesign of the way Education, Health & Social Care provide for children and & young people.

Together with Leicester City, Northamptonshire are one of the 30 pathfinder groups working with the government on development of the new systems for Special Educational Needs & Disability.

If you have some time to share your views, be involved in discussions or even take part in planning meetings and training,

Speaker: Julia Malkin MBE

Julia Malkin MBE is a highly qualified driving instructor, who specialises in teaching individuals with ASD. She was awarded her MBE in The Queen's New Year's Honour's List 2011 for "Services to People with Special Needs". She is increasingly asked to provide consultation and advice with regards to the needs of people with autism, contributing to teaching courses at Nottingham Trent University and to the design of a proposed Special School with the emphasis on the needs of Pupils on the autistic spectrum.

New ADHD & AS Dual Diagnosis Provision in Northamptonshire



AUTISM CONCERN LAUNCHES NEW
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD] & Asperger Syndrome [AS] DUAL DIAGNOSIS PROVISION IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

Welcome to the new ADHD and AS Dual Diagnosis support provision available through Autism Concern for Northamptonshire under our 'ADHD Matters' network. Julie Hawkins and Jill Lees, formerly with British Red Cross Action for ADHD, have recently joined Autism Concern as a specialist team to supprt the c. 380 known families affected by ADHD/AS in the County.

Initially whilst we build the support programmes going forward, we can offer advice, information and guidance on all ADHD matters, so please contact our Free Helpline on 0808 808 9090  (10am - 2pm Mon - Fri).
