Type of Provision/Range of Need
Designated Special Provision providing education, therapy, support and facilities for 33 statemented pupils age 4 to 11 with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties, including up to 5 pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Admission Arrangements and Area Served
Following referral from the Special Needs Assessment Panel. Primarily the Corby area and surrounding villages.
All children have access to the National Curriculum which is differentiated to age and ability. Staff deliver the curriculum in a variety of ways, enabling pupils to learn at the appropriate level and pace. Additional programmes are based on individual needs. TEACCH principles are used for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Organisation and Special Resources
There are separate class bases for the special provision and all children have the opportunity to integrate with mainstream classes socially and educationally. Experienced and specially trained staff with additional external professional support, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy. Parents room, medical/therapy room, light and sound stimulation room, hydrotherapy pool with specialised lighting and sound and disabled facilities. Full wheelchair access to the Infant School and partial access to the Junior School. A nurse is available on site. There is also a soft play room complete with ball-pool. Secured enclosed outdoor play area with safety flooring.

Close links between parents and school. Continuous assessment and Annual Reviews.
Visiting and Pupil Transport Arrangements
Parents and Professionals are always welcome to visit the school. It is best to make an appointment to make sure someone is available to talk to you. Where appropriate, pupil transport is provided in accordance with the Local Educational Authority Transport Policy.
At 11+ pupils may transfer to Corby Community College DSP or to other schools as appropriate.
