Type of Provision/Range of Need
Designated Special Provision for pupils age 4 to 11 who have autism and associated moderate or severe learning difficulty.
Admission Arrangements and Area Served
Following referral from the Special Needs Assessment Panel. Primarily Northampton Borough and the South and West of the County.
All children follow the National Curriculum differentiated to age and ability. Additional programmes based on individual needs using TEACCH principles.
Organisation and Special Resources
The provision is self-contained including a separate secure playground area. Programmes of integration planned on individual basis - both from the special provision to main school and from main school to special provision. Experienced and specifically trained staff with external professional support including Speech Therapy and Educational Psychologist. The unit benefits from a recent re-build providing modern facilities, including sensory room, 3 classroom bases and cooking room.

Visiting and Pupil Transport Arrangements
Parents and professionals are always welcome to visit the school. It is best to make an appointment to make sure someone is available to talk to you. Where appropriate, pupil transport is provided in accordance with the Local Educational Authority Transport Policy.
Pupils remain in the DSP until the end of Year 6. A review meeting is arranged in the Autumn Term prior to transfer to secondary school.
